Ductless | Mini Split | Minneapolis | Minnesota
Ductless mini split systems are an excellent air conditioning solution for homes and businesses in Minneapolis that have boiler and radiator heating systems. Mill City Heating & Cooling has an extensive background installing these systems and would like to briefly share how they can help homeowners and businesses with air conditioning limitations. Ductless mini split systems are designed to be minimally intrusive, yet versatile as they do not require a ductwork system to provide air conditioning.
A typical mini-split system consists of a condenser or heat pump that sits outside and an air handler that rests on a wall (head) or on the floor inside the property. A refrigeration line connects the condenser or heat pump to the inside air handler, and each air handler is equipped with a remote for choosing different settings and programming the air handler. The majority of Ductless mini split systems are heat pumps (they both air condition and can heat down to -5 to -15 degrees). This versatility is what makes ductless mini split systems an ideal choice for homes and businesses with a boiler or with spaces that do not cool or heat properly. If you're interested in a free estimate or in-home consultation, please contact Mill City Heating & Cooling, Minneapolis's ductless mini split experts, as one happy customer did below.
Recently, a Minneapolis homeowner contacted us regarding a cooling solution for their home that had a boiler system. They were tired of having to install traditional window air conditioners throughout the house each year. They were also unhappy that their electrical bills greatly increased during the summer from the air conditioners. During our in-home consultation, we reviewed the layout of the house and the homeowner’s budget to come up with the best solution.
Our customer decided to go with the installation of a Fujitsu Multi-zone mini-split system with four individual wall mounted air handlers. One was installed in the living room to serve the entire open first floor, one in the second-floor master bedroom, one in another second-floor bedroom, and one in the newly finished attic. We explained how the system would be installed, where the lines would run, and insured them that the house would cool properly. After a few days, our customer called and thanked us for helping bring a high-efficiency air conditioning system into their home. Our customer was also happy to hear that they qualified for a $200 rebate through Xcel Energy!
